Fundamentally, this is a delightful self-portrait. I like the 'retro' feel she has created in her choice of tones and control of light in this image. Interestingly, she calls it her summer ID - which is most appropriate as this image exudes summer sunshine and warmth making it really endearing. You can almost feel the heat radiating from the screen and the warmth in her brown eyes. The focal point being her eyes where the light sets off sparks and draws the viewer right into her soul. Emotive and enchanting as it is, it is an excellent fashion portrait and would not look out of place in ELLE or COSMOPOLITAN. She has captured lovely tones and textures - the blue sky and the blue in the fabric of her dress; the smoothness of her porcelain-like complexion and the wind-kissed tresses of her hair give a feeling of calm and serenity - like summer - and a warm sense of home and nostalgia. This is all in all a very engaging portrait, and captivating model. I have awarded 3.5 for Vision - as it is rare, in this genre, to see something completely visionary and new, but I like how she's caught a light breeze and sensuality. For Originality I have awarded 2.5 for similar reasons... Her Technique had to be awarded 5 as anything less would be unjust - the photographer, for one soooo young, has proven here to have a firm grasp of the basics of good portrait/fashion photography and one to watch in the future. For Impact I have awarded another 5 as it IS a striking portrait; her beauty and ability to capture such emotion and beauty with such professionalism at such a young age just blew me away! I really like this image... I will be watching her from now on...
